Decision support for humans in an AI world

Everyone needs help at some point in their lives and I believe this will increase as AI proliferates.  Listed below are recent instances where AI is active and we need help knowing if we are interacting with AI or a live human.

Scam job offers via text are on the rise.  Those who want to dupe and head fake online users are implementing AI and it will become increasingly difficult to know what is a real offer and what is fake.  Here are a few articles about fake job offers coming across via SMS text messaging:

eHealth voice agents are alive and well.  Well, maybe they’re not alive but they are talking to consumers about Medicare, Medicaid and health insurance options.  In fact, the AI is so good that some customer’s can’t tell the difference between the AI agent and a live person.

AI is now conducting job interviews and you thought getting past the gatekeeper in the past was difficult?  Just wait until the “interviewer” with AI libraries intact have the entire last two years of job interviews in its memory, from every candidate and is using ChatGPT, Grok and Gemini to screen, assess and measure before passing the ideal prospect through to the hiring manager for a final decision.

Recently I wrote about HR and some of the benefits and challenges human resource departments will face when combining AI with text messaging. I won’t repeat any of those thoughts here, instead let me provide a short list, with links of text messaging providers that are promoting the use of SMS and AI.  Review any of these vendors and it’s easy to see that AI and text messaging will play a persistent role in HR.

And we can’t really ignore Catfishing and online dating.  The world is full of people that misrepresent themselves and what better place to do it than in a social digital forums.  Here are just a few highlights or low lights if you prefer.

My point in providing the several examples above is that we all need help when it comes to avoiding deception – especially as AI becomes more human like and sophisticated.  Many businesses act in forthright and honest ways and notify their customers when AI is involved.  However, many people and and a few businesses do not.  Embracing a tool like AI Truth Teller™ won’t identify every deceptive person, message or interaction.  People are innovative and it’s a constant evolution of opposing capabilities, but wouldn’t you like to have the advantages of AI and the wisdom of the crowd helping you to make better decisions and ensuring you are AI aware?  Even if simply becoming AI aware, you gain the advantage so you can make better decisions, weighed against your own life experience and decide whether you want to continue to engage with the AI Agent, walk away, shut down the chat window, etc..

You get the idea; your life, your decisions – make better decisions because you are AI aware.
